Saturday February 11th "Double Shot" Debut at Better Days No Cover Charge!! |
After one more year of hosting great bands, losing vast
sums of money, and basically de-sensitizing Wellsville to
the luxury of live music: Better Days is radically changing
our tune. As of January 1 2012 we will no longer be
collecting a cover charge for the musicians. This isn't
because we don't think they deserve it! The issue lies in
the math and the demand for quality live music. The
standard three dollar cover charge does not ever(95% of
the time) pay for the band, actually it rarely exceeds 50%
of the standard $360 expense. Having to pay $150, even
$250 out of pocket every weekend is not food finance. On
the other side of the coin, folks will not pay $5-$6 cover
charges unless Bon Jovi himself is inside handing out free
beer.
We will still be hosting live music events! Expect to see
more solo and duo acts, DJ's, and new bands looking for
exposure. These performances will be asking for gratuity
from the customers and the house will alway match any
customer contribution. It is our hope that this approach will
result in a more diverse and spontaneous entertainment at
Better Days!
