The "NoiseGods" are again without a big beat and have cancelled this Saturday's gig. Sorry for the late notice but we just got the official word this week and don't know if another date will be scheduled. We may have a band show up at the last minute so all hope is not lost. Next weekend is the Wellsville Music Festival and we have bands both Friday and Saturday at the pub. That will only be a small part of the festival as a few dozen bands are playing in town that weekend. Click here for the schedule and more details...
Our outside cafe is up and running for the summer so stop by and have a bite or a drink. Call anytime to reserve a table outside....
Premium Builders, Jason Childs and Mike Bierman, are just about finished with our new floor and the floor told me that it was promised to be danced upon. So far this has not happened and in order to keep our new floor happy we must have dancers. We wouldn't want our new floor to get up and walk away now would we?? So please come dance and I think Dirty Dan Sorensen is giving dancing lessons on a first come first serve basis if that interests anyone. He is a marvelous dancer.
Next week I am starting to tour some local farms and processing facilities with the goal of providing locally produced meat that is naturally raised, humanely treated/processed, and handled in a sanitary manner. I just finished a book called "Slaughterhouse" which details the reality of how the large commercial farming business puts profits first and the important things last. I will admit the book just about pushed me to vegetarianism. Though I stopped short of that it certainly has convinced me that it is my duty to myself and my customers to do all I can to make sure the meat we serve at Better Days is safe to eat. I also plan to make sure that our meat comes from animals that were raised properly and processed respectfully. At this time I should also issue a warning to any local farm that I plan to personally make sure that you are not mistreating your animals. We have some large dairy, hog, and beef operations in our neck of the woods and they will be reviewed and held accountable. We may be higher on the food chain but a pig or a cow deserves to be respected in the same way we demand respect for dogs or cats. Stay tuned and anyone interested in joining me on some tours please give a shout out.
