Wow winter is sure aggressive this year with more than a foot of snow on
the ground and its cold, like low twenties high teens cold. The cosmic
hens are not really pleased but are still laying eggs...about six a day.
The picture to the right is just after a ten minute chase through the house
after this bird, Mary, snuck in a cracked door while I was out stomping
around the lot. She knocked over the coffee creamer, a wine bottle, and
ate the leftover pasta and danish. When I finally got my hands on her
she was ready to be caught and put back out with the flock. Within ten
minutes she was out in the chicken house cackling and hollering about
the egg she just laid for me. Fun stuff.
The Christmas season is really just getting going and the nights are
getting a little wilder as the college kids get home and the pipeliners get
