Better Days is thrilled to announce that as of Monday July 28th we will be serving only all
natural, locally raised ground beef and burgers.  We recently purchased a steer from a very
impressive farm just NW of the Allegany county line, Raising Acres.  Owned by a physician and
family, the farm has been working for over a decade to produce high quality beef raised without
the use of hormones, antibiotics, commercial feed, or forage containing any chemicals or
pesticides.  Its not as easy as it sounds and a tremendous amount of intelligent and solid
farming fundamentals have made this product available just recently.  And it is just in time...

Commercial ground beef, is not safe to eat unless it is cooked very thoroughly, and the
danger is being ignored for the sake of profitability.  The problem is Escherichia coli O157:H7, a
deadly form of e.coli that enters our food chain when animals are not properly cared for or
properly processed at the slaughterhouse.  The ground beef that is served at most restaurants
comes from the least desirable animals and or the least desirable meat from healthy animals.
Often your burger is the conglomerate of "spent" dairy cows, and some of the otherwise
unwanted meat from beef cattle.  An even larger issue is the slaughterhouse, particularly large
commercial operations that process hundreds of beef an hour.  The primary concerns of these
operations is volume, sanitation and humane practices take a back seat.  I have done a fair
amount of research after a friend got me interested and I personally would never eat ground
beef from an unknown source again.  So to be able to sleep at night I have chosen to never sell
ground beef from an unknown source again.  Better Days will only be serving all natural, locally
raised, humanely reared and processed beef.  Keep an eye on our daily specials for other
great all natural beef menu features like Beef Short Ribs and Sirloin Tips over Rice!!!!
