Trying to calm down the recent birthday ruckuses like mohawks and head shaving I am opting for a less
dramatic start to my thirty third time around our solar star. This year its gonna just be a great rock n roll
band and probably more than my share of Wild Turkey. "The Amity Parachute Experiment" will be playing
some of my favorite music and we will be trying to raise money for Victim Services of Wellsville. All of you
long time readers can attest to the fact the incessant mention of 'VICSER' and my belief that it is a great local
charity. Fact is that we live amongst a grave amount of domestic and sexual violence in Allegany County
and the world in general. My concern is for those who can't defend themselves- women and children are
often left totally vunerable by the abuses of the more physically powerful "man". Nothing is more heart
breaking than learning of children being manipulated and harmed by deviant adults. Almost as
heartbreaking is meeting a women who is controlled by a man who uses his physical prominence to abuse a
lady that is torn between personal safety and the complexities of having a family. Niether are acceptable but
nonetheless facts of everyday life that we can prevent and/or support. VICSER are the people that care for,
and advocate for, victims of these kinds of violence. They are not funded for community outreach so we try
and help them with that.... hoping you can stop by...dance a little....help make things better.....
