The annual Better Days staff party was this last Sunday where staff and family gathered to eat dinner and
goof off until the wee hours.  This year we tried something new and presented a vegetarian dinner to the troops
which was great until I screwed up the main dish.  The toasted pineapple, taco dip, garden salad, and butternut
squash soup all were great.  The stuffed portabello mushroom over pesto pasta was a real flop.  Mostly due to
over cooking, the cheese was caked on and the whole thing smelt like vomit.  We had 18 revelers to serve and
I only had fourteen portions of pasta available.  The vegan gravy had turned to paste.  I was not impressed and
quickly ordered a party pizza from Pizza King.   And then I realized I forgot dessert......... your slippin Ace.....

Regardless of that failed attempt to persuade the guests that vegetarian food is not gross, we had plenty of
fun after dinner.  The details are always foggy but we did some serious drinking and capped it off with an
impromptu performance of "Take Me Back to Tulsa" by Dan Harris.  Our ninth annual holiday staff party ended
the same way as always for me..... With one hell of a hangover.

Saturday night we are pleased to announce that our "Save the Boobies" event was a success.  The Hamilton
family was good enough to travel from Syracuse to support the effort and sold quite a few T-shirts to benefit
breast cancer research.  "The Mysterious Blues Band" was not quite the usual group but nonetheless put on a
rousing show and the dancing was spirited.  We did not hear any complaints about the additional door charge
and can report the following financial results from Saturday:

   104 guests contributed $2.50 each = $260
George Lynch III personally contributed $50
    Better Days contributed $80
    Two random Army guys $10
A money order for $ 400 will be sent to  The Susan G Komen Foundation, Western NY Affiliate
