ST.PATRICKS DAY IS COMING !! "IRELAND IS RICH IN LITERATURE THAT UNDERSTANDS A SOUL'S YEARNINGS, AND DANCING THAT UNDERSTANDS A HAPPY HEART." MARGARET JACKSON
Thank you sister of sassquatch for the recent bites of wisdom and yes that holy day is coming soon. Better Days will be the place to be with a cool band, the best traditional Irish feast, and of course lots of drunk people wearing green. Detail will emerge as the wheel turns.....
Speaking of the wheel turning I went to a conference yesterday that really has me thinking into the future. Edible Buffalo and the Field and Fork Network hosted a "Farmer - Chef conference" that was held to improve the network of 'all natural' or 'organic' farms and local food focused restaurants. The discussion centered around how to use the existing network to better facilitate trade and what steps need to be taken to make the local food movement thrive. I spoke with chefs from the top Buffalo area eateries and elite private clubs, specialty dairy farmers, newspaper reporters, organic winery owners, college administrators, and one of the few NYS peach farmers. For different reasons they all agree that local food is the next big thing. Some are business people but most of these folks really care about the bigger picture and see it as a better way for everyone.
Better Days is committed in constantly increasing our locally produced menu content and specials. We are looking for the closest possible source for this summer's produce. Our little pub sells alot of lettuce, tomato, onion, potato, celery, carrot, cucumber, and bell peppers. We would love to start a relationship with a local all natural grower so shoot me a message if interested.
I would go into a dissertation, or a Chautauqua, on what that big picture is but I have a hand injury from my steering wheel. Fact is that I use my steering wheel like a instrument that allows me to play guitar and drums and keyboard along with my favorite music. Some time when I am listening to the Tool I get carried away with my drumming and injure myself. Apparently I have bashed a nerve or cracked a bone because my whole arm ache's from pain radiating from my swollen wrist.
