If you check out the pictures page I put up a mess of good shots from Friday's Headbangers Ball. As expected it was a mob scene with folks packing into the the pub to hear the heavy metal music. Top Jimmy, leader of the new supergroup "Roundhouse Kick (Chuck Norris Style)" wowed all with nearly flawless guitar work. Anton Flint put his powerful vocals on display and several times I found myself looking to see if indeed David Lee Roth had showed up and grabbed the mic. Scotty Grantier and Ion Ryan put out a rhythm that keep all the wild women dancing and head banging. These guys played nearly four hours of Van Halen, AC/DC, Judas Priest, and other eighties hair band music with very little practice. They know how to have a good time and we can't wait until the next Ball........
Compared to Friday, Saturday night was dull and it was probably for the best. I lost track but a major backup deep in the bowels of Better Days caused probably a dozen toliet overflows. The Sheriff and I fought back against this backflow as best we could but it wasn't alot of fun. Sorry for all the inconvienence and we thank everyone who went outside to do thier business.
Sunday we hosted an X-Mas decorating party that has transformed Better Days into a bedazzling light show sure to create holiday cheer. Jim and HM, co-chairs of the Decorating Commitee, have been responsible for the different seasonal light displays at the pub for the last year or so. They really have a knack for using lights and other decor to make the pub into a giant art display. We really appreciate the work they do and this year they invited a bunch of friends to help with the most elaborate display yet. Thanks to the whole crew for taking the time and interest in Better Days and for making it a happy place.
