We left this story on a mild Saturday night and Mr. BiPolar had just left me to go home and think about what to do with the puppies. A few days went by and he didn't return. Wondering if he was finally permanently committed I started to get ready to take the pups up to the SPCA and take my chances on any legal retaliation. The pups are now at my parents house who have a big fenced in yard that connects to a barn with a heated dog den. Before I every got to serious about the SPCA the pups came down with kennel cough, a minor respiratory infection but very contagious. So either way the pups aren't going anywhere until they get done with the antibiotic regiment. On Monday I was sitting in Better Days catching up on some paperwork when Mr. BiPolar appeared, ready to talk puppies. "HI Ace can we talk about the dogs?" he asked. "Sure buddy sit down" I told him trying to get him comfortable.
"Listen Ace, me and Snuffer broke up, she left me and moved over across town with some other dude. I'm broke and haven't eaten in a few days and could really use some money. Didn't you say you would buy those pups from me?" Mr. BiPolar asked apparently forgetting all of our previous discussions.
"Well I'll give you whatever you have into the dogs from the vets and the dog control office" I replied sensing that I was about to be able to claim victory.
"Between the two it has cost me almost fifty bucks and I really need that money for some food, she took all the food with her, and the cigarettes" he sadly told me.
"OK that's just fine buddy but you gotta sign this and get me the license" I told him and got out the checkbook.
"I hate to do it but those dogs are better off with a family and a nice place to play" he seemed to finally get the picture and we exchanged paperwork for fifty bucks.
"Well bud you are doing the right thing and I assure you that I will find these pups a good home and you gotta do me a favor and never get any dogs again....no matter what" says me.
Mr. BiPolar agreed that he shouldn't have dogs and thanked me for the help. Then he started into some story about his old girlfriend from Bradford who is trying to get him back for X-mas but he wasn't so sure because the benefits are alot lower in Pennsylvania. Yada Yada Yada, get out of my life thank you.
As for the pups they are doing great, almost over the kennel cough, and looking for some new digs. Anyone interested in a couple of fuzzy, sweet, and playful boys please get in touch soon cause I will be taking them to the SPCA next week sometime. A special thank you to Dr. Lopez who took the pups in and treated them, refusing all payments I have tried to make. Another thank you to my friend Rachel who help me with some of the rescue missions and getting the pups safe and healthy. And thank you to the Wellsville dog control officer Kathy Faulkner, Connie at the SPCA, Terry the Animal Cruelty Inspector, and my parents for helping me complete the rescue successfully.
