| THAT DAY AGAIN So it’s that time of year again, St. V-Day. A day most men dread and most women look forward too. Why is it that we dread this day so? Its simple, it’s the day that all guys, in any type of relationship, truly let’s his girl know how much she means to him. It’s a time for him to open up and express his feelings for her, the more creative and bolder the gesture the more style points that he earns. The girls love this, not only because they know it drives their man crazy trying to figure out the best gift, but more importantly it gives her something to brag about the day after. If truth is told, each guy is in reality squaring off against the next for the title of “best boyfriend/husband”. On February 15th the girls will get together and casually ask each other how their night went and as each one tells her story you are secretly getting graded against the other guys. The ladies will deny this to the end, but it is true. If one guy sends flowers and you don’t you just lost points, and although she might not say it out loud she is saying to herself “I can not believe that he is so insensitive and unthoughtful, I honestly thought I meant more to him than this!” Us guys know that each other is going though the same thing, but the guy code prevents us from saying anything about it. Sure we can admit to other guys that we have no clue what to do but by doing so we are admitting weakness. So instead of joining forces we slap the poor fellow on the back, apologize for not being able to help, and walk away snickering to ourselves, now knowing that when your lady tells her story on the 15th you have at least out done one poor soul. Yes, this puts a lot of pressure on us guys, but in the end what V-day comes down to is it’s an opportunity to give your woman something to brag about, a way to make you look better than the other schmucks out there scrambling to come up with something. So toss the leftover Christmas chocolates in the garbage with those plastic flowers, return the vacuum cleaner, and stash the Victoria Secret catalog with your Playboy’s. It’ s time to put on the thinking cap and make you girlfriend/wife look amazing in front of the other lady’s. The higher you score on this test the better your reward will be in the future. Not only will this make her feel extremely special but it also make you look great to the other ladies, and that is never a bad thing! |
